MUN Conference 2
Resolution
Egypt (Ashton Cornett)
Solution to Iranian Nuclear Program
The Security Council,
Declaring "Egypt supports international efforts to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons," Abul Gheit said (AFP)
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit
Aware of Egyptian views toward Iran's nuclear program are complex and contradictory. While the regime is opposed to a nuclear armed Iran, the majority of the population supports Iran's nuclear ambitions (Egypt),
Noting with deep concern “many Saudis and Egyptians have expressed their concern about the weaknesses of the NPT and declared that it is not at all serving Arab interests. It failed to disarm Israel and compel it to join the treaty as a non-nuclear state,
Having heard that Egypt and Saudi Arabia to create a Weapon of Mass Destruction Free Zone in the Middle East have not met with success. However, if Iran becomes a nuclear power, it is likely that Egypt would withdraw from the NPT,” (Egypt),
Emphasizing a nuclear Iran would likely weaken Saudi and Egyptian influence in the Middle East. It would have a major impact on their prominent roles as U.S. allies in the region. Many Arab countries believe that in addition to the Iranian crisis, Israel's nuclear arsenal is also a cause for concern,
Deeply concerned Saudi Arabia and Egypt found themselves surrounded by nuclear-armed Israel and Iran, it would greatly increase pressure on them to look for other security alternatives (Egypt),
Deeply convinced the nightmare scenario that could be unleashed by Iran’s nuclearization is easy to sketch. Israel would go on a hair-trigger alert-ready to launch a nuclear weapon at a moment’s notice-putting both counties minutes away from annihilation. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey would scramble to join the nuclear club, The Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) would collapse, unleashing a wave of nuclear proliferation around the globe (After Iran Gets the Bomb),
1. Considers to split the Arab unity on a WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) free zone to sever Iran’s objective:
A. To remove all WMDs in the middle;
B. This will only happen if Israel will admit to having nuclear weapons hidden so that they aren’t the only ones with nuclear weapons in the middle east;
2. In which ever countries in the middle east will have inspectors from all over the middle east go check on the reactors;
A. This will make it so that it will get the west and Europe out of there so that there isn’t any help. Like America over looking things in Israel and nailing Iran;
3. If any of these countries violate the WMD free zone they will lose all nuclear reactors so that they can’t try to make any weapons:
A. Also they will be hit with a sanction for a cretin time period deepening on how sirius they were violating the free zone;

Speech
Egypt (Ashton Cornett)
Speech
My fellow delegates I would like to turn your attention to resolution 2B,
I fell that at least half of you fell as I do on the topic that Iran should not have any warheads and any WMD that mite be a threat to the security of other countries. This could hurt many countries if Iran were to get a nuclear weapon. No one could stop them from using it on one of there enemies like America or over to Israel brining the shadow war out into the light. This would cause other countries in the area to want to get nuclear weapons so that they could keep them self’s safe or to add allies. This would cause the NPT to fall apart witch would cause every one to start fighting.
Why would we want to take the risk of letting a nuclear war start because no one could check for nuclear grade weapons. We know that they hate Israel and have had failed attempts on killing Israeli diplomats. If we don’t act even if it isn’t us who get shot at it might be Israel who is a ally and it wouldn’t be good for America and the other big five. Other countries might fell that the big five are getting weak and not helping their allies in need even if nuclear warfare is involved. This may also cause the NPT to fall apart so that this countries can protect them self’s from Iran and other enemies that may pose a threat to their security if the treaty hasn’t already fallen apart.
Way would we want to cause more killing and fighting among countries. What do you want peace or more war that is getting us no were in the world but hurt. Why would we want this. We need a plan that has both a reward and punishments for Iran. Like how this one has the plan to remove or and sanctions if the cooperate are argue that we should just stay out of Iran and leave they alone. If we were to move their nuclear factories to Russia the IAEA would be able to inspect the facilities without jeopardizing Iranian privacy.
If we could just change this one thing and move their factories to Russia. We might be able to stop a nuclear war from happening. This give a peaceful solution that all could agree on.

Conference Reflection
1.How has your perspective changed (on the UN, the world, or the Middle East)based on this project?
Before this project I never really thought about the UN or conflict in the world. But I see what is happening in the world and how it could affect me even if I don’t live their. I thought that the middle east was in bad shape but I would have never thought that they are fighting over if Iran has nuclear weapons.
2.Look at what you needed to improve on from your last reflection and discuss how you improved for this conference.
In this conference I made more comments on speeches that I fell that were ageist my country or that would cause war. One of the things that I fought for was when people said bad things about the resolution that I was for. I may have not made a lot of speeches but I commented people who didn’t give the whole story and were just trying to change peoples minds with lies.
3. If we did yet at third conference, what would you most need to improve on from this conference?
If we were to have a third conference I would need to improve on how my speech was written. In this last conference my speech sounded as if I was repeating the same thing every time instead of trying to get my point across to every one. This would make it so that I could change the other delegates mind to the resolution that I’m supporting.
Give yourself a grade for the following categories and explain why that is the grade you deserve:
Overall diplomacy, professionalism, and engagement in the conference.
In the conference I fell the I was really engaged in what people say and what was happening. I wouldn’t speech out of turn or mess around when the conference was happening.
Speeches
I mad one speech only but I fell that it was strong but not the greatest it could have been. When I made my speech I messed up a few times when I was speaking. It could have better written out then what it was so that people don’t think that I was trying to come up with a speech on the spot.
Caucusing
During the caucuses I was well engaged in helping my friends convince other people to change to the resolution that we were for. I would talk to people that or on the two sides and try to move them over to one side.
Comments
I made a few good comments when people wouldn’t tell the whole story to try to change peoples minds with a lie so that people would vote with them. In the conference we got on the topic of Iran was only letting in IAEA into see their nuclear reactors. So I commented that they are only allowed in on strict conditions like only times that Iran wants and the inspectors are always being watched over.
